IOT SOLUTION FOR HOME NETWORK MANAGEMENT
Client and Business Goals:
Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB) offers software, systems, and services to global pay-TV and telecommunications operators, content distributors, and property owners. Additionally, ADB is known for its expertise in creating digital connectivity devices, including set-top boxes and residential gateways. One of their featured products is the mobile app called i-CAN, designed to enable users to remotely manage their home network using a smartphone or tablet. Cooperating with the in-house team, MobiDev covered business analysis, UI/UX design, mobile front-end development, and quality assurance for the ADB product i-CAN.
Product Description:
i-CAN is a cross-platform React Native-based app that serves as a centralized control hub for a home network, allowing users to establish parental control settings for individual devices, diagnose network conditions, resolve issues, activate additional security features, and update firmware.

We have developed the cross-platform application to smoothly interconnect with ADB hardware within the IoT network. The implemented intuitively clear UX design makes the process of network customization clear and easy for users.
Completed MVP & Phase 1 within strict deadlines
The project came with demanding development schedules comprising two phases. We initiated the process with the MVP development, successfully accomplishing it in just 3.5 months. Then, we seamlessly transitioned into Phase 1 development. Consequently, within the next 4.5 months, we completed Phase 1, ready for handover to the in-house team.
Leveraged React Native to fit the in-house team’s expertise
React Native was the preferred choice because it aligned perfectly with the expertise of the client’s in-house team, which would be responsible for post-Phase 1 development. Additionally, using React Native, we could build the app for iOS and Android simultaneously, using a single codebase.
Provided smooth transfer of the project to the in-house team
Given that we were expected to hand over the project to the ADB in-house team upon successful completion of the MVP and Phase 1, we made a particular focus on the detailed project documentation. The documentation from both the business analyst and quality assurance engineer facilitated a seamless transition of the project to the ADB mobile development team.
